Sagittarius Dark Moon... The Bigger Picture
Sagittarius Lights The Way This Auspicious Moon Phase...
This coming Tuesday at 6:32 pm EST, we will experience the Sagittarius Dark Moon! It is graciously packed with potential and ties in beautifully with the motif of the "coming of the light" for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere and/or those of us who celebrate Winter Solstice (or a similar Holy-Day).
This coming Lunar energy feels so good... So promising... So supportive... And I want to share some about how we can tap into that energy, and use it!
Astrologically speaking, this lunation is pretty straightforward and to the point. There is not a whole lot going on out there in the collective stars that might disrupt Moon medicine or Moon magick we may feel inclined to do.
A bit of a caveat... While the stars are mostly supportive of this auspicious Moon phase... We can still get in our way, so I will touch on that a bit later in this post.
Let's first look a bit closer at this Dark Moon Sagitarrius energy!
During a Dark Moon, the Sun and the Moon are conjunct, meaning sitting right alongside each other. The Sun/Moon conjunction highlights endings/beginnings and takes on the energy of the sign they are in, spotlighting it in both our conscious and unconscious minds. This means our willpower, intuition, ability to nurture, and the way we connect deeply will all be infused with this energy. Unobstructed.
Sagittarius shines brightly and is motivated by both the process and idea of what it is becoming. Who it can and will become. Sagitarrius speaks to our psychological motivations around expansion, adventure, travel, enthusiasm, greater understanding, higher learning, and storytelling.
This is the start of a lunation ripe for personal growth, development, and success! Those of us who need an extra boost in these areas have this lunation on our side, fired up and ready to go. (Literally and symbolically.)
With such an auspicious and clear path ahead at the end of the calendar year, my invitation for those of us who plan to do Moon work is to look at the bigger picture the way Sagitarrius does and use its energy to support our six-month goals.
Let's look at what that means...
Sagittarius, the expander, the wanderer, the explorer, the forever learner... Not only does it carry a fiery light forward through this darkest time of year, but it knows the bigger picture. It knows all of our experiences help us to learn, grow, and become.
Sagittarius invites us to consider all we've learned and all we want to learn and then asks what the fuck we are going to do with it!
This is where my invitation comes in.
We all have Sagittarius in us... The part of us that wants to expand, explore, and be more... The part of us that throws caution to the wind, which takes courage, and says...
"I can do whatever I put my mind to! I have all the wisdom of all the ages right here inside me, and what I can't tap into within myself, I'll find in the outside world!"
Here are my questions...
What is it that is burning to come up and out of you? What wants to come to life? To be healed? To be developed or fine-tuned? What is the adventure that your heart wants to make real?
I ask because it is possible.
I ask because Sagittarius knows the way and is followed by just the right zodiacal sign to structure the work we decide on during this Dark Moon.
The New Moon will be the following night and the Moon will move into Capricorn at 10:31 am EST. The New Moon is when we take what we have contemplated during the Dark Moon and we take action to manifest those intentions.
Capricorn can act as a stabilizer for those of us who want it to... This sign is one to give us resolve, focus, and commitment to the cause. At least until Friday afternoon when the Moon moves along her merry way again! That said, the work we put into motion in Sagitarrius while there is no other push or pull astrological speaking, gets anchored in by Capricorn for two and a half days... Hot damn!
I'm telling you, this is an auspicious time for intention setting, manifesting, and any other work we do with the energy of the Dark Moon.
Jupiter, the planet that rules over Sagittarius will be in Taurus and invites us to expand our horizons this Dark Moon by looking deeper into our personal values, as well as our beliefs about ourselves and our self-worth. If the answer doesn't seem to come clearly... Let's be still, earth/ground, and listen intently to what our bodies have to say.
One thing we may want to ask ourselves is where we need to be courageous to do the thing we intend to do. Where we feel "not enough" can get in the way of these vast horizons... Let's be clear on where we need to be courageous and have that information at the forefront of our minds as we do our Moon work. With Sagisttarius' courage leading us on our adventure, Taurus' support coming straight from our bodies, and Capricorn's determination... We can succeed...
What does that look like for you?
